Nikka From The Barrel brings oak, vanilla, chocolate and orange peel into the producer’s aroma notes. The palate is full-bodied and sweet, with oak astringency; the finish turns woody and bitter. Consider it when you enjoy a whisky that moves from sweetness toward a firmer oak finish.

Start with a small neat pour, then add water a few drops at a time to find a dilution you enjoy. For a longer drink, try it with chilled soda and adjust the whisky-to-soda ratio to your taste.

How it’s made: Nikka blends matured malt and grain whiskies, then returns the blend to casks for a few months. This marrying stage brings the different batches together before bottling.
