Chateau La GaffeliŠre is 1st Growth in Saint Emilion. This estate is steep in history,ÿthey're one of the oldest family-owned vineyards dating back as far as the 1400s.ÿThe Estate didn't start producing wine until the 17th century. This Gothic-styled Chateau had built a reputation asÿone of the finest producers in all of St-Emilionÿby the 18th century.

This Chƒteau's second wine, Clos La GaffeliŠre, was born in 1985. This outstanding second label isÿproduced mainly from young vines.ÿLaÿClos is harvested and produced according to the high standards set forth by the first label: pruning, cover, de-leafing, green harvest, and hand-picking. In the cellar, the same technical process sets the pace for successive stages of vinification.ÿThis wine is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
