Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon Japanese Edition is the 750ml Japan-market bottling imported by Takara Shuzo and commonly called Takara Red for its red wax presentation. Made at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, it is a single-barrel straight bourbon drawn from Mash Bill #2 and aged in metal-clad Warehouse H. It is bottled at 46.5% ABV, or 93 proof.

The official profile shows nutmeg and spice on the nose. Dry vanilla, honey, caramel, and corn follow on the palate, with the Japanese importer also noting citrus and oak. The finish is medium in length, returning to corn and nutmeg. Each bottle is individually filled, labeled, and sealed with one of the collectible horse-and-jockey stopper designs.
